Having Trouble Drinking Your Water?

Drink water like it’s going out of style!

We always get told to drink water and to stay hydrated. It is a key ingredient for our health. There is so much to say about water and why it is good for you, however I will keep this straight to the point.

Drinking your water throughout the day helps with:

  • Keeping the skin healthy
  • Flushes the waste from the body
  • Helps to maintain blood pressure
  • Moves nutrients around the body
  • Regulates Digestion

There is so much more than the above, but lets be realistic; to get out allocated level of water is TOUGH!

The recommended amount of water we should be drinking is 6 to 8 glasses of water a day.  Every person is different and some people naturally drink a lot of water, however aside from this its important, and starting out is not easy, so here are my tips to help you keep your body pure and clean.

  1. Use a straw

If you don’t enjoy what you are drinking then it will be hard regardless, but if you use a straw it makes it fun. Take regular sips of your water. If you don’t use a straw, then find a bottle that is easy for you to sip from.. just don’t chug your drink down in once.

    2. Flavour your water

Water has no taste, and if you can’t tolerate this, then try adding some fruit to your water. I personally like to add lemon or lime. In the summer I use berries.

   3. Set your drinking prime times

By this, I mean when I wake up I am thirsty as ever so I have a pint of water in the morning with lemon to cleanse my body before I eat my breakfast. When I am training in the gym I get thirsty as ever so I drink during my sessions. Basically think of the times when it is easy for you to get in the water an drink then.

    4. Use an app to track your fluid intake

Through using an app, you can set your goal of how many glasses or litres of water you should drink each day and the app will send you reminders to drink. I use my My Fitness Pal to track my water intake. Anything that enables me to use my phone has my vote.

   5. Drink a glass of water each time you have a toilet break.

I get up to use the toilet so why not take advantage of the time you are moving around to fill your bottle up or have a glass of water.

Give these tips a try and see how well you can hit those water goals, after all the human body is a houseplant, just with emotions.

If you have any tips on drinking water, I would love to hear them, so let me know.
