Who Are You?

Hi. How is your week going?

We spend so much time thinking about other people and getting to know everyone else, but how well do we know ourselves? The truth is, probably not very well.

Things that we can learn about ourselves:

  1. Our triggers
  2. Our core values and beliefs
  3. What turns us on
  4. Our dreams and desires
  5. Our self-sabotaging behaviours
  6. What we do and don’t enjoy
  7. Our attachment style
  8. What makes us feel loved and cared for.

What other things do you think we should learn about ourselves?

Let us have a mental health check in.

  1. How are you feeling mentally, physically and emotionally?
  2. What is taking up most of your headspace at the moment?
  3. When was the last time you took a break from social media/ technology?
  4. When did you last move your body?
  5. When was the last time you laughed properly? How can you make yourself feel good today?

Answer these questions honestly.

Remember:

  1. Resting is important
  2. Write 3 things you are grateful for.
  3. You are enough.

Here Are Our Happy Hormones

Hi.

I hope you are having a great weekend.

Hormones play a part in the running of our day to day lives, so when it comes to our feel good/ happy hormones, how do we hack them?

Oxytocin is the love hormone. Hug someone you love, show affection, spend time with those that make you feel good.

Serotonin is the hormone that affects our good mood. To combat this, do exercise, meditate and eat well.

Dopamine is to do with rewards. Get creative, try something new or tick something off your to do list.

Endorphins are like our pain relief. Try laughing, doing art and having a nice bath.

Next time you find yourself struggling, try these hacks and notice how quickly you begin to feel good.

It Is The Truth

Hi! I hope you are well.

In today’s post, I want to discuss hard truths. They aren’t the nicest and don’t feel good at the time, however they can bring us back to reality. Here are a few hard truths that we can all pay attention too.

  1. Change is never easy. It takes time. You have to have patience and trust the process if you want results.
  2. We can’t change people. People change when they want to.
  3. If we think that everyone else is the problem, this isn’t necessarily true, we may be part of the problem too. As humans we all contribute to situations, so we need to be aware of the the part that we play in situations.
  4. Failing is a part of life. If we don’t fail, then we aren’t opening the door to new opportunities.
  5. If you want better, go and find what you deserve.

Can you relate to this? What other hard truths may benefit us?

Rituals and Routines

As an advocate for having good mental health and wellbeing, something that is great for us is having a routine, but why specifically is it good for our mental health?

When we are anxious, we often have thought of the unknown that take up so much space in our mind, so through having a routine, it gives off a feeling of predictability which helps brings relief from mental health.

Having a routine is also great because by doing things at the same time, means we are more likely to stick to things which makes us feel successful. By taking action of any kind helps us to feel motivated which is great for mental wellness.

A routine also means we are more likely to adopt healthy habits in our day to day lives overall.

Hunger Pangs

I don’t know about you, but this time of year means all the good foods, so I want to take about the different ways in which hunger can show up.

The first way is through physical hunger. This is true need to eat. It is a bodily cue, just like the need to use the toilet. This is a form of hunger that we should honour and respect. Some signs of physical hunger can be getting headaches, struggling to concentrate and low energy. Don’t ignore these cues as it can cause you to lose touch.

The second way is through taste. This might be the craving for a certain type of food. You can respect this cue by allowing yourself to choose this food without feeling guilty and telling yourself that it isn’t bad to have it.

The third way in which hunger can present itself if through emotions. When we are feeling a certain way food may give us a satisfying feeling. Remember that it is oaky to eat for emotional reasons, but do get to the bottom of why you may be feeling like this.

The final way that we may experience hunger is practically. This means eating food because it is a good idea too even if you don’t experience the physical hunger cues. The reason we do this is to ensure that we do not go too long without eating and to stop us feeling any discomfort.

Do any of these signs resonate with you?

Are You Burntout?

Happy Monday.

This time of year can be overwhelming for many of us. Burnout isn’t something that happens out of the blue or all of a sudden, it happens over a specific time which makes things harder for us to see the signs.

If you start to feel burnout, you may struggle to make decisions, this can be something as simple as figuring out what to have for dinner.

On top of this, you might struggle to find the excitement in things that you used to love to do, and your confidence may start to dip.

Let us not forget emotions as well. You might be snappy with people or take things more personally.

Do you recognise any of these signs of burnout?

What You Think, You Believe

What you put out to the universe is what you will get back.

Imagine if you always think that nothing is working out for you, then nothing will change. Your thoughts need to change.

A few affirmations for yourself:

  • I have great potential
  • I am in control of my thoughts
  • I am healthy
  • I am attracting good opportunities

You shouldn’t be afraid of new beginnings, new challenges or new people.

Embrace the changes and give yourself the chance to succeed.

Why Should You Get A Coach?

The holiday season is fast approaching, so I want to give you a few reasons why you should invest in a coach leading up to the holiday season.

  1. Make the best out of the rest of the year, so you aren’t starting at zero in January.
  2. Have a plan of action gong into the end of the year feeling confident about what you want to achieve.
  3. Start building and implementing healthy habits and stay grounded.
  4. Have someone hold you accountable and help you with your own specific needs.

As a coach, I want you to have the most successful end of the year and feel your best going into the new year. If this is something you are looking for, email me and I will be in touch.
