Remember To Be Mindful

A bank holiday and a long weekend is very much welcomed.

At the moment life feels like it is moving at a thousand miles per hour. There are so many changes happening each day, that it feels as though is is hard to keep up.

This is where prioritising your self-care and being mindful can really help us.

Here are a few ways that we can be mindful over the next few days:

  1. Do one thing at a time and do it slowly
  2. Go outside and enjoy the beauty of nature
  3. When reading, take in the information and make an effort to properly understand it
  4. When eating food, take small bites and savour the taste
  5. Remember that things come and go

Have a good start to the bank holiday, whatever you have planned, enjoy it and turn the days tasks into mindful moments.

All The Best,

Enjoy Your Food

With December being here and Christmas just around the corner, the subject of food often crops up.

If we see food as neither good or bad, does that mean we shouldn’t see it as an energy source for our body, especially if we are listening to our body when it tells us that it is hungry?

Food isn’t just fuel. It is a connection that we have socially when we go out to eat with friends or have dinner round the table, it is comfort and it is fun. Food is part of our lives.

We want to see food in a way that we don’t feel guilty when we eat something that is not so nutritious. We want and need to be able to understand what our body needs without having to restrict foods.

Give yourself the freedom to eat for pleasure this holiday period. Not everything has to do with our physical health. The enjoyment is just as important.

Create The Life You Want

Creating the life you want IS possible.

It all starts with you wanting to change. Once you know you are ready, you need to be clear on what you want from life.

When a Monday morning came around, I would think to myself, when is it the weekend? I can’t wait to have a drink on thirsty Thursdays , etc.

This made me realise that I don’t want to spend 5 out of 7 days of my life hating it. I wanted to get up in the morning and be excited about digging my teeth into my tasks.

Wellness isn’t just about exercise, it is emotional and mental health too. This is when I realised that alongside my personal training, I wanted to rebrand and train as a life coach with my niche being in wellness.

This transition doesn’t happen without any effort. It comes as a result of me working on myself and surrounding myself with people that make me want to better myself and improve.

My tips are:

  • Have a clear idea on the life that you want
  • Have a good group of people
  • Find out what your limiting beliefs are
  • Work on your strengths

Start working on yourself, stay grounded and focus. You can do it!

Life Isn’t Solid, It’s Fluid.

Christmas is a time for giving.

It is a time for celebrating with your loved ones.

This year is very different to how many of us have imagined.

We may have wanted to travel to be with family, friends or even for a holiday.

If you can remember one thing, remember that this is temporary and you can get through it. It might not seem like it but it is.

We have a lot to be grateful for. Celebrate the small wins.

Make the most of Christmas Day with those you do have around.

Always find the good in situations and things will be more positive.

Our reaction to a situation has the power to change a situation itself.

Have Fun When You Workout And It Wont Feel Like Work

Working out can be hard so here are a few tips that I find helps to keep me going and to make the most out of the workouts that I do.

  1. Do workouts that challenge you, mentally and physically as this will keep you engaged. On top of this you will more than likely stick to the schedule.
  2. Figure out the exercise before adding weights. Form is very important when it comes to exercise as you could do some serious damage if not.
  3. Remember results don’t happen overnight. Don’t let this have a negative effect on your workouts, keep at it.
  4. Respect your body and what it can do. Be proud of what your body can achieve when it comes to exercise. By doing this you will enjoy your workout routine more.
  5. The big one- do not compare yourself to others. Every fitness journey is different. You are your own competition not anyone else.

Hold The Vision, Trust The Process

Can we simply just enjoy the process of fitness?

We always want the things that we cant have. Each physique phase comes with it’s own challenges.

When we diet, we are tired, cold and hungry. That is part of the process and we have to embrace it and prove to yourself that you can do it. Live in the present.

When we are growing we are full and ucomfortable. Again, that is part of it so suck it up and tell yourself you can deal with it to get the physique that we want.

Basically what I am saying is your mindset should not change whether you are dieting or growing.

You need to show up everyday, train hard, eat well, recover even harder. You need to trust the process and the results will follow.

We spend almost 99% of time in the process so rather than hating it, just enjoy it.
