Gratitude Is The Best Attitude

Happy Friday!

I hope you have had a great week so far!

Today, I want to take about the effect that gratitude has on our mental health and why we should practice it.

  1. It helps us to release our hormones dopamine and serotonin. The feel good hormones.
  2. It can help us sleep better.
  3. It allows us to focus on the things that really matter.
  4. It helps us to regulate or nervous system.
  5. It allows us to feel safe within ourselves.

What 3 things are you grateful for today?

A Little Self-Care

With Christmas just around the corner, we shouldn’t neglect self-care. What are some ways we can do this?

  • Remove any regrets you have
  • Be proud of your progress that you have made
  • Wrap up any loose ends that you have
  • Look for the beauty in things
  • Accept your imperfections
  • Shine a positive light on yourself
  • Make a Christmas wish

Remember that self-care isn’t just physical like painting your nails or having a nice bath, it is much deeper than that, it comes from inside and through gratitude.

Tuesday’s Task

Happy Tuesday.

I am coming at you with an exercise for you to complete this week.

Ask yourself daily:

  1. What are you grateful for?
  2. Who are you grateful for?
  3. Are you showing up for yourself and being your true self?

Once you answer these questions, let them lead you through the day.

Not Everything Needs To Cost

Taking care of our health and wellbeing is so important, but not everything that benefits our health and wellness have to cost. Here are some free things that you can do for your health.

  1. Get sunshine/ fresh air daily. This will naturally boost your energy.
  2. Meditate. This can improve the grey matter in our brain, improve our mood and focus.
  3. Drink filtered water. Staying hydrated is vital for the brain and overall health.
  4. Practice gratitude. This will set the tone in a good way for your day.
  5. Sleep well. Better sleep means better cognition and a better mood.

What other free things can you do to take care of your health?

We Are Slaves Of Our Own Emotions

I want to touch upon emotions. Something that I came across recently was the saying ‘the happy side of neutral.’ This is telling us that our life isn’t spent experiencing heightened emotions and rather the chasing a state of happiness as this is actually impossible, we should aim for the happier side of our most neutral state.

The next question is how do we do this? Through gratitude.

As humans we always look for the negative emotion to protect us and it is more natural for us to feed emotions such as anger or sadness.

When it comes to emotions such as happiness or joy we experience these in a fleeting moment and then return to a neutral state.

If we want to give our happy moments more length in time, we need to be grateful and appreciate things. Write down a list of 3 things that you are grateful for each day and be more present in the activities that you do.

I hope that this has given you inspiration for practice being grateful. It honestly works, mindfulness all the way.

Trust Yourself

I have been thinking a bit about my journey to self-growth and acceptance and trusting myself and that things will workout, so if you are having this problem, here are some ways that you can trust yourself.

  1. Rely on yourself. This can be something as simple as completing your to do list.
  2. Remember you have your friends and family, they are there to support you, so allow yourself to go to them in times of need.
  3. Practice gratitude. Everyday, write a list of 3 things that you are grateful for.
  4. Continue to practice self-growth and adopt the mindset in order to separate the attachment from the outcome
  5. Purely trust that everything will work the way its should

It’s My Birthday!

Happy 30th birthday to me!

30’s are said to be some of the best times.

I’m sitting here reflecting on the fact that my 20’s was the time that I started my fitness business then realised that something was missing and I wanted to help people become their best self through focusing on wellness as a whole so moved to life coaching.

If I thing back to finishing uni at 21 I didn’t have much confidence in myself or my abilities and 9 nears on sometimes that confidence still lacks yet I feel more able to deal with tough situations that might arise and I feel much more happier than I did at 21.

I honestly thought that 30 year olds all had everything sorted in terms of career, relationships and finances, when in reality that’s not true. Maybe for some but really what we all continue to do in life is learn each day.

There’s so much more that I still want to do and accomplish in my 30’s both personally and business wise but overall I’m feeling excited to grow and continue to work on my wellness, adopting what I teach clients.

I want to continue to be happy and be grateful for what I have. Time honestly flies and before I know it, the next age milestone will come. Let’s create the life we want.

Invest In Your Wellness

Life likes to throw us its fair shares of stresses, so I think it is so important to take care of your emotional wellness.

Emotional wellness is defined as having an awareness and understanding of your emotions and accepting them.

If your mental health goes untreated, it can cause a wide range of problem such as headaches, muscle pains, fatigue and much more.

What are some ways you can take care of your emotional wellness?

  1. Set boundaries. Don’t overwhelm yourself. If you cant do something say no.
  2. Focus on being mindful through the use of gratituding, journaling, yoga and mediation.
  3. Do things just for you. Focus on the good and what you enjoy doing.
  4. Talk to others about how you are feeling. If you are struggling, reach out and communicate.
  5. Have a laugh. Watch something funny, laugh with friends. Whatever that may be laugh and release those happy chemicals.

Caring for the mind is as crucial as caring for the body.

Life Is To Be Lived

The past few weeks have felt very overwhelming and it brings to attention that life is so special. When you read the above you might think it is just a simple statement, but in reality, thing can change so quickly.

Be kind, support others and be present. There isn’t anything wrong with taking a many to reflect on things, but don’t spend too long thinking about the difficult situations.

Focus on what makes you happy and do less of what doesn’t make you happy.

Start your day by being grateful and continue your day with a full heart.

How Do I Become More Positive? – Part 2

As promised here is part 2.

I touched upon allowing yourself to feel the emotions that you go through rather than blocking them out. Today I want to give you some tips, but just so you are aware, you might not relate to all of them, but take what you need from them.

  1. Practice Gratitude

Make it a habit. Every morning or evening, write down 3 things that happened that you are grateful for. When we do this, our thinking automatically shifts from negative to positive due to the chemicals such as serotonin, oxytocin and dopamine, having a surge.

2. Journal

Let go of all the thoughts that are bogging you down and this way you are choosing what mood you want to be in and it will automatically make you feel lighter. You are letting the negative thoughts fly away. When journalling ask yourself the question; what am I struggling with right now and how can I make it better?

3. Dedicate and hour of your time to something that you really enjoy.

Write a list of things that make you happy, anything from cooking, to having a bath, exercising. Whatever that may be, put the distractions from technology away and invest your time into the list. You don’t have to be good it for it to be good for you.

4. Meditate

This is something that we all should be doing. Meditating can be done, walking, through music or guided. Whatever way you do this, you are allowing the negative thoughts to free and you are focusing on the present moment.

5. Check in with yourself before picking up your phone

Really, how many of you pick up your phone and scroll on social media before you get out of bed? When you do this, you are putting those on social media before the most important person, and that is yourself. Next time, before you do this, check in with yourself and ask yourself how you are feeling this morning before scrolling.

These 5 tips and tricks will make an impact to you, your thoughts and emotions if you commit and be consistent.
