Energy Is Everything

When things don’t go to plan, it can make us feel demotivated and low in energy. 

If you need to lift your energy, change your posture. Your posture reflects how you feel. Once you have altered your posture, the work on your mind. 

  1. Loosen any tension that you have in your body 
  2. Stand up straight, put your shoulder back and stick our your chest 
  3. Walk, whilst swinging your arm and keeping your head up and held high
  4. Stretch out your neck
  5. Focus on your breathing
  6. Finally, think of anything that makes you happy, or say a positive affirmation 

Try this little exercise, each time you are feeling like you need a spring in your step.

Methods of Self-Care

Back in the day, I used to think that scrolling on Instagram was a form of self care.

Fast forward till today, I have changed my view on the activities that are considered as self care. 

For example:

  1. Colouring
  2. Doing exercise 
  3. Going for a walk
  4. Meditating
  5. Reading
  6. Journalling 
  7. Chatting to friends 

What do you do to take care of yourself? 

Take A Moment And Relax Your Mind

Sometimes we need to take a step back and look at what is happening around us. Take in the smells, sounds, and how you are feeling.

Did you hear that noise? Why was it so loud? What was that smell? Did it smell good or bad?

All these things happen so fast. We act how we do because of them, however we rarely actually pause for a moment and think about the impact that these things have on our life. 

They may be good, they may not. They may also contribute to our life. 

However, we can only really know this when we create the space and be present at that moment.

It isn’t easy, but it is possible. 

Through being mindful, it can enable you to create a space where you go from feeling lost to feeling found and from a variety of reactions. 

Break Up With Your Inner Critic

There are a few things that your inner critic doesn’t want you to know.

These are that:

  • You are enough.
  • You are worthy of respect.
  • You are worthy of love. 
  • You deserve to be on this planet. 
  • You are allowed to feel good about yourself. 

Next time you feel that your negative self talk is trying to come out of hiding, ensure you repeat these things to yourself. Show up for yourself and who you are in this world. 

Rule Your Mind

We often think that we don’t have any control of our mind when the majority of the time we actually let our thoughts run free.

By doing this, we worry about the little things and it can cause us to create negative scenarios in our head that make us feel stressed out.

Once we realise that we can actually choose what to focus our mind on, it creates a peaceful and positive place in our head.

Some ways to reframe your mindset are:

1. Putting yourself down ——> Be your biggest cheerleader. Cheer yourself on, even with the smallest wins.

2. Worrying and getting stressed ——> Be grateful for the things you have at present

3. Feeling as though you should give up ——> Visualise your life and how you want it to be and take the steps to get there.

4. Negative talk to yourself ——> Focus your energy on bettering yourself.

5. Comparing yourself to others ——> Rather than say they are better than you, say I can do that too.
