You Are Worthy

Hi. I hope you are well.

I want to discuss self-worth. What is self-worth and what impact does it have on your day to day life?

Self-worth is defined as a sense of one’s own value as a human. The thing here is that the problem doesn’t lie with your own worth, it lies with the way we look at our self-worth.

We often attach our worth to how successful we are and what we achieve. We listen to what society says about being worthy, and this often means the traditional things such as owning a house, getting married, how much we are paid and even being attractive. Based on this, it is easy to see where we fall short and don’t feel worthy.

Low self-worth shows up in our everyday life in the forms of getting stuck in our comfort zones, people pleasing and not going after what you want.

The thing is we are worthy.  Aim for a sense of worth regardless of what is going on in your life and navigate through the tough times. Think about who you are as a person and the things that you value about yourself.

What can you start doing today to recognise your self-worth?

Show Me Love

Don’t beat yourself up.

It is important to notice when we are not being kind to ourselves.

The reason we are unkind is due to the need to stay safe. It is our response to when we make mistakes or failure when our inner critic jumps in to protect us but that often leads to feelings of upset and guilt.

The thing is, making mistakes and failing are all part of growth and self-development.

Be mindful of your negative talk and unrealistic expectations that you have of yourself and normalise making mistakes. It is all part of being a human.

Be kind and show yourself love.

How Do I Become More Positive? – Part 2

As promised here is part 2.

I touched upon allowing yourself to feel the emotions that you go through rather than blocking them out. Today I want to give you some tips, but just so you are aware, you might not relate to all of them, but take what you need from them.

  1. Practice Gratitude

Make it a habit. Every morning or evening, write down 3 things that happened that you are grateful for. When we do this, our thinking automatically shifts from negative to positive due to the chemicals such as serotonin, oxytocin and dopamine, having a surge.

2. Journal

Let go of all the thoughts that are bogging you down and this way you are choosing what mood you want to be in and it will automatically make you feel lighter. You are letting the negative thoughts fly away. When journalling ask yourself the question; what am I struggling with right now and how can I make it better?

3. Dedicate and hour of your time to something that you really enjoy.

Write a list of things that make you happy, anything from cooking, to having a bath, exercising. Whatever that may be, put the distractions from technology away and invest your time into the list. You don’t have to be good it for it to be good for you.

4. Meditate

This is something that we all should be doing. Meditating can be done, walking, through music or guided. Whatever way you do this, you are allowing the negative thoughts to free and you are focusing on the present moment.

5. Check in with yourself before picking up your phone

Really, how many of you pick up your phone and scroll on social media before you get out of bed? When you do this, you are putting those on social media before the most important person, and that is yourself. Next time, before you do this, check in with yourself and ask yourself how you are feeling this morning before scrolling.

These 5 tips and tricks will make an impact to you, your thoughts and emotions if you commit and be consistent.

Your Purpose Is Within

How many times have you found yourself going on a journey and you end up feeling lost?

It is only normal that when you feel lost, you begin to experience anxiety, doubt and feel stuck.

When it comes to our purpose, we aren’t really stuck, nor is it lost, you just need to find it. It is there within your external compass.

What I am trying to say, is that it is okay to continue moving forward from the point that you are at now. Don’t try and find your purpose. Allow yourself to move on.

You need to tune into yourself, take action and make a list of the things that you feel are in and out of alignment.

Check in with yourself and see how you feel along the journey. Move in a direction, but be okay if it changes. You are on a journey to self discovery. No journey is going to be perfect. Go from where you are and keep going.

It is your path, your journey and your story to tell.

There Will Be An Answer

You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need all the answers.

There is always something to know and learn.

Where you are right now and what you know right now is all that we need.

What you need to do is to take the next step and not be afraid of whether or not it will work.

Figuring it out along the way is part of the journey. Start now and allow the rest to flow.

Trust yourself, trust that you know enough and move forward in the direction that you want.

Alignment Affects Perception

Just as much as the next person, I am all about living in a world that is full of rainbows and unicorns however, if that is what you believe living in alignment is then unfortunately you have been tricked.

When you are considering alignment, you need to ask the question, what version of yourself are you aligning to?

If you feel that all is good and you have got all that you want then that is fine, you can keep aligning with the current version of yourself.

However, if you want something different and you are feeling stuck in a rut and you are aligning to your current self, you will keep feeling this way.

On the other hand, your future self may be different to who you are at the moment.

This person may be more:

  • Open
  • Patient
  • Confident
  • Courageous
  • Outgoing
  • Expressive
  • Loyal

And there are so many more words that I could go on and on.

Instead of actually trying to seek alignment, ask yourself

  1. What could you do that will make you feel proud?
  2. What actions would increase your self-esteem?
  3. What could make you feel more confident?
  4. What would the successful and future me do?

By asking yourself these questions, they will keep you in alignment with something that helps you to improve and better yourself rather than feeling uncomfortable and unsure with your current situation.

Positive Energy Attracts Positive Outcomes

Has anyone actually thought about what it feels like to stay and be in your own energy?

For me personally, it has been a learning curve. By this, I mean I have learnt things about myself that I haven’t before such as the fact that I was sensitive, I tried to please others a lot and i gave a lot of time to situations and people that had negative effects on me.

Learning how to stay focused and grounded in my own energy has been a life changing moment for me. It takes time and practice, but we can all get there.

Here are a few ways that you can practice staying in your own energy:

1. Spend quality time with yourself.

2. Spend time alone in silence. This can help you to listen more.

3. Walk outside in nature without headphones. This helps you to pay more attention to what is around you.

4. Meditate and practice breath-work. This enables you to stop overthinking.

5. Rather than just doing a task, ask yourself, why you are doing something.

6. Ensure you take time away from technology. This helps you to be present in your environment.

It is vital to explore and get to know what your own energy feels like. This leads to beautiful things in terms of your relationship with yourself.

To get in tune with your own energy doesn’t begin with going on a solo trip, it begins from inside, by taking some time to get to know yourself.

Self Reflection Is A Tool Of Wisdom

I was self reflecting earlier today and here are a few things that I wish I could have told myself regarding my journey.

  1. It is okay if you don’t have everything figured out down to a tee. Follow your heart, and live by your rules as long as they are within reason and cause no harm.
  2. Invest in yourself. That is the best place to honestly put your money because your personal growth is what will make you happy.
  3. Everything that you are going through in life all have a purpose and play a part in your story.

If there is anything that you could tell yourself, what would it be?

Why Should You Invest In A Life Coach?

More people are suffering with Mental Health due to the increase in stress that people are experiencing from work, relationships and much more.

A Life Coach helps you to dig beneath the surface of your thoughts and beliefs and helps you to understand what is stopping you from being successful and preventing you from having a good wellbeing.

A Life Coach can help you to form a clearer picture of and vision for your future.

Fulfilment is in fact one of the main objectives of life and through having a Life Coach, they can help you to feel alive, live in alignment with your values and purpose.

On top of this, a Life Coach can also encourage you to look at your motives and beliefs and distribute your time in a better way. This means that you are able to develop extra time for the things that you really want to do.

Now is the time more than ever to work on your self-development, goals and for the life that you want. Once we start investing in ourselves and making a commitment to pleasing yourself, that is when we begin to live a more meaningful life.
